Chapter 1 : You Must Die!

"Ah!" Braylon Vanderbilt stumbled and tumbled down the stairs after being pushed by Zoey. Her heavily pregnant belly hit the sharp edges of the steps like a cumbersome lead ball, rolling all the way to the bottom.

Sharp pain spread through her body instantly, and she felt a warm sensation below, as if something was flowing out. Braylon looked down and saw a crimson stain spreading at the base of her thighs.

Her baby, her child!

She clutched her belly and crawled towards the man standing nearby, grabbing his pant leg. Looking up with a pale face, she pleaded, "Jeffrey, save our baby."

Zoey walked over and affectionately wrapped her arm around Jeffrey''s, her tone sweet and soft, "Jeffrey, should we save the bastard in her belly?"

Jeffrey pulled his pant leg away with a look of disgust and kicked Braylon aside, "You whore, stay away from me!"

He then turned to Zoey, "This place is filthy. Take care of her and come out. I''ll wait for you in the car."

Braylon stared in disbelief at Jeffrey Rockefeller''s retreating back, feeling as if a knife had been plunged into her heart.

He wanted to kill her!

Jeffrey was the man she had loved dearly for four years, but only now did she realize he had been secretly involved with her half-sister Zoey all along.

She was carrying his child, yet he was willing to do this to her? Even a tiger doesn''t eat its cubs, how could he treat her like this?

Pain radiated from her lower abdomen.

What about her baby?

Who would save her baby?

In her desperation, she turned her pleading eyes to Zoey, "Please, take me to the hospital, save my baby..."

Zoey sneered, "At this point, you still think the baby in your belly is Jeffrey''s?"

Braylon''s body trembled, "What do you mean?"

"On your birthday, the person sleeping next to Jeffrey was me. You were drunk, and who knows which random man you hooked up with to conceive this bastard."

Braylon''s eyes widened in shock.

No wonder she had been so drunk on her birthday. It was all Zoey''s scheme.

She had treated Zoey like a dear sister, obeying her every word.

But Zoey had not only stolen the man she loved but also ruined her life!

Braylon''s heart was filled with anger and resentment, "Why? I treated you like my own sister, why would you do this to me?"

"Angry already?" Zoey laughed, "I want to crush you under my feet. Whatever you have, I will take, including Jeffrey."

"Actually, it was me who orchestrated the acid attack that disfigured your face. Only by ruining your face would Jeffrey despise you."

"Oh, and..." She paused before continuing, "Since you''re not long for this world, I might as well tell you one more thing. Your dad is dead."

It was like a bolt from the blue.

Braylon felt as if her heart had been stabbed, bleeding profusely, the pain so intense it made her whole body tremble, "You''re lying!"

"He deserved it!" Zoey ignored Braylon''s heart-wrenching grief, her eyes filled with malice, "My mom was with him for so many years, but he only ever cared about your dead mother. He brought this on himself."

Braylon''s heart felt like it was being torn apart, tears streaming down her disfigured face, "He was your father too, how could you be so cruel?!"

Zoey''s lips curled into a smile as she looked at Braylon like she was a dead dog, "Because he wasn''t my biological father. Mr. DuPont was. When he found out the truth, he couldn''t handle the betrayal and died of a heart attack. But you are his eldest daughter, and I don''t want to share the inheritance with you, so you must die!"

Braylon coughed up a mouthful of blood, weakly gasping, "You... you won''t die a good death..."

"The one who won''t die a good death is you and the bastard in your belly."

"Hahaha!"

Zoey laughed wildly.

Braylon''s eyes were filled with deep hatred, but the sharp pain in her belly made her consciousness fade, her eyelids growing heavier.

Before darkness consumed her, she heard someone say, "She actually gave birth? How did you handle it? Throw the bastard and her into the sea to feed the fish."

That voice...

It was Jeffrey.
